Are they returning it to the grossly underpaid workers or the grossly overcharged customers, though?

Of course not! That would be fair and thus anti-capitalist!

Imagine if every worker was a shareholder in the company they worked for and got a vote on company decisions...

Furthermore, imagine if everyone had one voting share per person, instead of whoever has the most wealth has a ton of voting shares.

It's kind of funny how close we are to economic democracy.

Workers and customers can sue Tesla too. Workers can also go work elsewhere and customers can go shop elsewhere. No one is forcing anyone to work for Tesla or buy their cars. If you choose to deal with a shit show owned by a lunatic - it's on YOU.

Most workers and customers can't AFFORD to sue Tesla.

As far as your voluntarily buying, a lot of customers have been misled with regards to things like build quality, free features that became very expensive and many other things.

With regards to nobody forcing people to work for Tesla, it's actually damn close: there's no guarantee that they'd be able to find another job that doesn't underpay and mistreat them even more and Texas, where Tesla is based, is one of the many states that treat unemployed people worse than most western countries treat convicted criminals.

Tesla quality issues and overpromises are known for like, what? 10 years? 15? Don't try to downplay the stupidity of people who deal with Tesla.

As for workers - move to a different state, problem solved. And don't tell me that it's hard, I moved to a different bloody country myself. That's a lot more than just moving inside your own country.

Stupid people don't deserve to be swindled either, though. At least when they're not malicous..

move to a different state, problem solved

Yeah because everyone can afford and are able to do that since it's free and super easy to do for everyone regardless of their health and nobody would ever need to stay in order to be close to family or other obligations 🙄

don't tell me it's hard.

I will because it is. Just because you were able to move to another country doesn't mean that everyone is able to move to another state. Not everyone has your resources both material and otherwise.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I had €2,000 for the whole move. Yeah, tell me more about resources. You people in US are so delusional it's not even funny anymore

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

That's much more than many people have, especially in countries with widespread abject poverty like the US. I'm not in the US myself btw, not that it matters.

Tesla Inc’s directors will return $735m to the company to settle claims they grossly overpaid themselves in one of the largest shareholder settlements of its kind, according to a Monday filing in a Delaware court.

Billionaire shareholders vs billionaire directors. Unless you are the 1%, you won’t understand the context
