He's not involved in politics. Why is this here?

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Because the Republicans in Congress are making him a political issue.

So where are the articles about all the Jewish Space Lasers?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

LOL, that's before my time as mod. :) We might need a Megapost of "Marjorie Taylor Greene is a Dumbass" but I'm not sure a) that happens often enough or b) that we need posts on things that are just a matter of fact.

While I would argue that it does happen often enough, I’d take it further and say that a permanent megathread dedicated to the woman would eat the more important things, since the megathread would likely need to remain in effect indefinitely.

On Reddit, since that was before the Exodus

To be fair, if you read into it, the ones who aren't just screeching "Hunter Biden!" like a particularly obsessed parrot are claiming that Hunter is relevant to Joe Biden because the core claim that gets repeated and distorted like the world's stupidest game of telephone is Hunter functioning as a middle man for Joe doing things that are akin to, or in some cases directly are bribery and pay-for-access. And also Hunter using his access to Joe as a bargaining chip, which if Joe was aware of is also, umm, not a good look.

Any lesser charges are either a way to expand access to evidence or just the only things they can find evidence to charge over. They're also genuinely hoping that if they charge Hunter with something serious and federal that Joe will bail him out and they can pound the table over that in a cloud of hypocrisy.

Plus, it's all great theater to keep their people from paying too close attention to the Trump indictments.

OP is butthurt.

Because this could potentially go to the SCOTUS and they'd be forced to choose between relaxing gun laws and allowing meth-heads to open carry and prosecuting a political opponent.

And I almost thought about voting for him to what was he running for?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Hey OP, Jimmy Dore and Bill Maher are curmudgeons who are resting on progressive laurels they no longer have a right to. Never trust what they do is in good faith anymore, they are simply ex hippies who have come full circle on their opinions that because now that they're old, new things beyond their comprehension or talent frighten them.

They are not lefties in much the same way China is not communist.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges relating to concealing drug use when buying a weapon, kicking off a battle to beat an indictment from the Justice Department as House Republicans zero in on an impeachment of his father, seeking to tie both Bidens to wrongdoing.

Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, said during the arraignment that he planned to file a motion to dismiss the charges, challenging the constitutionality of a law that blocks drug users from owning guns.

The criminal case gets underway as GOP lawmakers accelerate their probe into President Biden, having held their first hearing into an impeachment inquiry last week.

The effort got off to a rocky start, with several GOP-invited witnesses saying there was not presently enough evidence to impeach the president, as they could not connect any of his actions to his son’s business dealings, despite claims of influence peddling.

One of the GOP’s main focuses is Weiss’s investigation, amid claims from two whistleblowers that the probe into Hunter Biden was slow-walked.

Whistleblowers alleged Graves resisted partnering to bring charges against Biden in Washington.
