Good morning, friends. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

I don't know why I was thinking about this, this morning. But do you know that the word kindergarten is a German word for children's garden. I think in is not completely apparent to everyone in the United States. I've spent some time in Germany and studied a little German in college, so it is obvious to me. But before that, growing up I had no idea why that pre 1st grade level was called kindergarten. The idea goes all the way back to 1779 Bavaria, I don't have room to elaborate, but I'll leave a link in case it's something that interests you. Kindergarten is a preschool level but now we have an optional preschool which I guess is really pre-preschool. Anyway, here is a link about kindergarten: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindergarten

"I think it's so important in preschool and in kindergarten and elementary school that we're not biasing ourselves." - Megan Smith

@[email protected] Honestly, in over five decades, I never knew that little tidbit. Very fond memories of my child garden, during the 1976 Bicentennial celebration era...thank you Mrs. McCarthy. Guess that I'm STILL learning sumthin new everyday!

P.S. I miss my Crayola crayons ๐Ÿ–๏ธ
