In a 1st, NASA's Perseverance rover makes breathable oxygen on Mars

As important, the oxygen is produced from locally-sourced CO2, not from water brought from elsewhere.
So it's not limited by the rocket's or craft's carrying capacity.
Is there any evidence of this or is it just "NASA says" as usual?
Seeing as it's their river and they are operating it, not sure what exactly you want as evidence.
It is the purpose of the MOXIE unit, which they had proved a small amount from back in 2021. OG press release
