Got back into my New Vegas run. I have a good feeling that some time within the next few centuries I might even finish the game for the first time in my life.

Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes] - Goofy clip of the week

Them's Fightin' Herds - Hopped on commentary for Glue Cup 2v2 this week. Need to make more time to actually start playing again.

Mahjong Soul/Riichi City/IRL mahjong - Remember when I said I was done grinding this game mode and wouldn't do another run?

Splatoon 3 - Haven't touched Salmon Run since the last Big Run and I'm clearly rusty. Apparently 173 wasn't even top 20% on this map, damn. At least I finally killed a Triumvirate.

Anybody else playing the new satisfactory update?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Started up a new world after not playing since like... update 5 I think? Already having a blast with it, though I've ran into a bug where coal miners won't take coal from belts unless you have coal in your inventory and I think I'm gonna have to shelve it until that's fixed unfortunately...

All the new QoL features are amazing though, and I'm crazy excited to see all the new late game content and what insane production lines I'm gonna havr to think up!

Stardew with my SO :)

I tried Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes again today, after years of not playing it. Had a lot of fun, and even beat a bunch of previously best times!

I also tried Balatro for the first time today. Really cool music and aesthetics, but not for me. I could see someone who likes Poker, getting super into it though.

Been playing a lot of Dice & Fold though, which I initially thought that I wouldn't care for, but which has really turned into an obsession. That and Storyteller have been so much fun to play!

Next up, I want to give PowerWash Simulator a try, as I hear a lot of good things about it.

I started old gem Arx Fatalis. I tried to chew through it during last two decades, but I always failed. Not because of the game itself, because it is indeed very cool. This time I believe I will emerge victorious!

Hah I'm still chewing through Dark Messiah, I want to get to Arx eventually too. Maybe try Dark Messiah, it mostly feels pretty modern and impressively immersive.

It's pretty good for what it is. I finished it once years ago. Tried it again last year, got almost to the end and somehow lost interest. Still have it on my drive, so I might actually finish it.

Tactical Breach Wizards! An absolutely incredible turn based breach-and-clear strategy game. The design is very approachable, the levels are gateau clever, and the writing is genuinely top-notch. I played the game for the characters just as much as for the game itself, if not more if we're being honest. I really truly can't recommend this one enough.

Cult of the Lamb with my SO, and Moonlighter on my own.

I hit chapter 3 of 6 in Conscript. So far, it's been an enjoyable Resident Evil-esque experience, but chapter 3 has some issues with the environment design. Most notably, there are some puddles you can walk over and others you can't, and the difference between the two is subtle and frustrating. I also think there's something lost from the brilliance of Resident Evil 1 when Conscript's environment is so much bigger. How you manage your resources is very important, and it's more intuitive how you want to do that when you're retreading a small space than a larger one. I'd still recommend this one so far, but I had to mention those caveats.

Since Conscript requires a dedicated hour or two set aside to make any progress, I've been getting back to Divinity: Original Sin a bit lately. The last time I played this was months ago, so I had to look up a walkthrough to continue making progress and pick up where I left off, but the game is still good.

I beat Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and I'd say it is largely an improvement over the previous game with one exception. There's approximately one point per level where there's just an arena of enemies surrounding you, and I don't think the game is well built for it, given how fast they chew through your health and your inability to dodge hitscan weapons. I'm very much looking forward to Indiana Jones now that I've finished this one.

Oxygen Not Included - after binging ONI videos all month I finally decided to give actually playing the game a go. Turns out watching lots of high level gameplay does not make you a good player! The struggle is tons of fun though.

Stationeers - A second super complicated game, I just had to hop in and play with all the new robotic arms they just added! Or rather, I would if I could make a functioning station in the first place... Time to go refactor the atmospherics again!

Satisfactory - The hat trick for brain melting games this week, with the release of 1.0 I've started up a brand new world and I can't wait to mess around with all the new toys we've got! Unfortunately I've been hit with a nasty post-release bug but hopefully they'll fix it right away and I can continue my factory adventures!

Astro Bot - A game to help unwind after the stress of the other three games, I genuinely cannot comprehend the amount of heart that went into this game! I seriously find myself grinning from ear to ear every time I boot it up, and I'm always looking forward to my next chance to play!

Lo-Fi Room was a lot of fun. Free to play online.

Decided it was time for this year's tour of No Man's Sky. The Worlds 1 and Aquarius updates are really nice. I think I missed checking it out last year but every time I revisit this game it makes me happy that there is at least one story out there of a game with a rocky launch where the studio stuck by their product and made something wonderful.

I just picked up Hogwarts Legacy on the recent PlayStation sale. Haven't made it too far in yet but I can tell this game will eat up some hours.
