Jammy. Real pain to clean, though I've heard you can do it in a dishwasher on cold without the soap

I didn't have an issue, I just cut off the base, soaked and rinsed, tore into smaller parts, and rinsed again. Then boiled it in broth to add to chicken noodle soup. Perfection!

That's fair enough. I guess I see it as if I'm happy enough to eat off rinsed plates from the dishwasher, I'm happy enough to eat a rinsed fungus.

Yeah, the problem is that porous plants/fungi trap soap in the pores and can make you sick.
