I've been using YouCut since forever, it works great. Not open source though. But the free version is doing just fine. Can't tell you how intrusive the ads are though, I'm blocking everything on system level.

Yeah I try to avoid it when possible, but for stuff I only use occasionally, I accepted it eventually for the sake of convenience.

Disabled data usage for the app, so it's not phoning home, that's enough for me.

That's not a basic task, especially for an open source software, since many of the codecs are closed. There are a few that can make effects on individual videos, but I don't know of any that can handle multiple videos.
