Pérez gets a lot of flack, but his experience showed through (at points!) in this race when he made the call to swap onto inters early.

Yeap, he may not always be able to win races with the fastest car, or come second, but sometimes he makes the right call on pitstops.

After the undercut from Max on the 2nd set of stops, Checo wasn't waiting for the team to call him in

Did he do it twice - the team wasn't ready for him when the deluge hit late in the race

I don’t think so, but maybe they were planning on inters like Max and changed at the last second. If he did it twice I’m sure he would have been ahead of Max and not done an extra lap
