A community for your defence shitposting needs

Rules

1. Be niceDo not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.

2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes

If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Low-hanging fruit such as random Twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Matrix chat.

3. Content must be relevant

Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.

4. No racism / hatespeech

No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.

5. No politics

We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.

6. No seriousposting

We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.

7. No classified material

Classified ‘western’ information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.

8. Source artwork

If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.

9. No low-effort posts

No egregiously low effort posts. E.g. screenshots, recent reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Matrix chat instead.

10. Don't get us banned

No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.

11. No misinformation

NCD exists to make fun of misinformation, not to spread it. Make outlandish claims, but if your take doesn’t show signs of satire or exaggeration it will be removed. Misleading content may result in a ban. Regardless of source, don’t post obvious propaganda or fake news. Double-check facts and don't be an idiot.

Given the thickness of paint has to be precise to account for weight, balance, and air resistance I bet that wacky ass digital camo with a red star was expensive af. Then again maybe I'm just thinking in terms of US Military Industrial Complex pricing, lol.

It's probably stickers. US does that too for photogenic livery, while the paint thickness is very important operationally it doesnt matter for parades or other flyovers.

I think you might be giving Russian budget managers too much credit. No way they're going to pay the engineers to work all that shit out when that money could be more effectively spent on personal yachts.

At this rate, it's going to be like the dinosaurs in a few decades. Russians will claim that they were invisible like chameleons, but the real scientists will know they had feathers.

so stealthy we'll never find out because at this rate, Russia's not gonna have a large contingent of these lol

what russia really needs are planes that are stealthy on the ground, perhaps if the drones can't see them heh

edit: holy fuck they were just sitting out in the open?

Alongside one sad painted example that doesn't even get a drop shadow.

Look in the sky.

You see it up there?

Exactly.

That's a nice paint job in that plane. I really like it.

Oh yeah? Want to see something really hot? Check out this Ukrainian F-35 design

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 months ago

You'd definitely have to pay up for that though. There's no way you'd just get it in a normal lootbox.

Sorry, I really should have flagged that as NSFW

God I wish. Would love to see what a 5th Gen multirole would do to 1970s tanks.

Many T-64s smoldering on the fields of Ukraine were produced in the 60s even.

And you don't need an advanced tactical fighter to blast golf carts.

I mean, the missiles get a CHA boost from launching from one but the damage still scales with INT

Are VTOL adjustable thrusters a DEX modifier?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Is this in a flight sim? 🥵

Legendary, thank you!

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago

There's no longer a viable breeding population

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Beautiful plumage, the Su-57.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

But why is it nailed there?!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

Listen, if it wasn't nailed there, it would've shot off, vroom, and leveled all of Kherson.

That's a pretty sexy plane, but it is also endangered

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

True but like centennials, it lived a long life.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Extinct in the wild, even the population in captivity is slowly dwindling.
