/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

As a good liar, I always have issue with the "never tell the same lie twice" line. The way to make a good lie is to be consistent with it. Once you start changing the story, people will notice and the lie will be revealed. You can only really be confusing if everyone knows you're lying.

I highly doubt a "simple tailor" would let a collar like out to be viewed by the public.

I think you _ a word, but I follow.

Fun fact: he never actually said that. People just confuse him with Gul Du Dok. A character most fans propably don't even remember - ironically.

Do you mean Gul Dukat? How anyone could forget that asshole is beyond me.

I believe they're "spinning a yarn" by saying it wasn't Garak.

My dear ummthatguy, I believe you know me to well.

Of course I am sure, Mr. Bonehead. I was there, after all and I remember it quite fondly.

You on the other hand, would do good in questioning your sources and who might have had an interest in tempering with them. I've heard rumours about changelings infiltrating earth's communication.

But then how do you keep your story consistent?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Simple. You lie when questioned. Consistency is for other people to worry about.

Just observe any politician, pundit, etc.

Their objective isn't the discovery of truth or common ground, but to achieve particular goals through argumentation... aka Sophistry.
