I mean, why would they? They probably know how bloodthirsty this country is, and why would you bring more scrutiny on yourself when you're already 'breaking' the law?

Every time I see photos of suburban Americans with big guns, all I can think of is the home security footage of a man killing two of his neighbors with a rifle cause they were annoying him with snow shoveling

Even a simple Maverick 88 with a 28" barrel is uniquely painful for me to shoot. It starts leaving bruises after a few birdshot target shooting rounds, something that has never happened with a 7.62mm scout rifle after an hour of dynamic shooting drills. I would never buy a shotgun like that and I can't imagine him shooting it without it dislocating his shoulder by the end of the magazine.
You gotta tuck the fucker into your shoulder hard to make it not hurt after a lot of shots
Push pull technique is where its at. Push forward while pulling it tight to mitigate recoil. I still don't care for shotguns, you're far better off with an automatic rifle.
They're a lot of fun, though. Not the best option as first shotgun you fire as having lots of rounds means you bruise the fuck out of your shoulder because you're having too much fun to actually shoulder it.

Are semi auto shotguns even reliable enough for any real self defense situation? I went shotgun clay shooting with a group of people who brought multiple different types of shotguns, and pretty much all the semi auto shotguns had trouble cycling, even with supposedly high power shells, while all the pump and break action shotguns had no problems
