I'll always take the time to withhold consent on any cookie banner, no matter how far down I have to scroll or how many levels of dialogs I have to go through.

The ghostery addon does that whole decline process automatically, and also randomizes data that is mandatory to use the site, to help hide who you actually are. I never see these popups anymore, and I have cookies set to clear on browser close, which I do at least once a day to clean up whatever’s left over.

Wow Ghostery has come a long way since back in ye olden days. It was completely replaced by UBlock at one point.

Going to have to redownload it. Thanks

uBlock Origin has cookie management under the 'Annoyances' filter. I got rid of Ghostery because of these filters.

Does that really stop them though? I do the same thing, but I wonder if they will do it anyway.

Its the new mini game feature of browsing the web. You have to unlock websites

It’s actually 239 vendors and partners.

I saw one once with over 1400 partners.

Yesterday I had to scroll through 1038 partners to untick the 200or so legitimate interests, since there was no untick all button... I also hate that I actually read the copyright policies before accepting them.

“we value your privacy” which is why we share your info with just about anyone we deem a “partner”

We value it, meaning we place a high dollar value on it when we sell it to literally anyone that will buy it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

Of course they value, they know exactly how much it's worth

I got a letter from a company a while ago (I honestly can't remember who), that was telling me my "rights" as to how my data was used. They said I cannot rescind their right to sell my data to their 362 partners!

What the actual fuck.

Imagine if we applied the level of consent expected for sex to TOCs.

Is this what Muslim martyrs have to go through nowadays?
