Currently dealing with a lot of non-specific malaise that's probably due to bi-polar + adhd, but it could also be long covid exhaustion. And like i want to be able to function and live a life and not be confined to bed. And that's already been a struggle bc of life long severe depression. And now there's this virus that can cause all the same symptoms - fatigue, brain fog, cognitive problems - that i already have. And if i don't want to catch the disease that has a very serious chance of compounding and multiplying the debilitating symptoms i already have i am unreasonable, ruled by fear, insane, weird, whatever.

It is wrong that we have been treated like this, that we continue to be treated like this, that so many of us find no support even from the people closest to us.

Imagine hearing the opinion of an Australian "chief health officer" and not immediately dismissing it as dangerously irresponsible drunken ramblings.

"I mean, who are you going to believe: Tens of millions of people who are struggling just to exist because of this disease, or one dude with an official sounding title whose six-figure salary depends on tricking enough of the peasants back to work to keep us happy?"

It does sound plausible enough, with the problem then being that basically everyone is repeatedly getting Covid whereas flu is far less common and people with compromised immune systems can more effectively vaccinate against it. So that serious complications from Covid are still far more prevalent. Not sure why that would mean we should dismiss the term ‘long Covid’ though, when the vast majority of people having post-infection problems are going to have contracted them via Covid.
The study afaik was based off results from a phone survey too, so it’s interesting but it obviously needs a lot more investigation.
