Alright, here's an odd question. I'm hosting family for my son's birthday, and he's asked for hotdogs for lunch. We've got some foodies in the family, so I don't want to skimp and just go with your typical Maple Leaf dogs.

Does anyone know where I could get some premium, potentially locally-made hotdogs? Does such a thing exist?

Hotdogs are just one type of sausage. You could try getting some different kinds of sausage for the foodies in the group.

I’m not from your area but looking for all beef is usually a better hot dog than a mix. For that reason kosher hotdogs are typically quite good, in the US the brand Hebrew National is a kosher hotdog available in most grocery stores.

There are definitly different grades to hotdogs, your PC Hot Dogs are not going to be as good as others.

My favorite is always gonna be smokie, best on the grill (aka not boiled)

You could do the good Ol' bacon-wrapped sausage with bigger bun and sausage (think Costco size) for the kids and European hotdog for the adults. Some merguez sausages in a baguette 🥖 with Dijon mustard and some coleslaw, that would be nice.

My girlfriend only makes Brazilian hotdogs and it's actually quite good. I now prefer them to Americans. Check out different sites as they may have small differences.

I don’t know if you’d call them premium but they are different
