Original Title: Comment by prominent Azerbaijani journalist Cavidaga: "Yes, unluckily for us, those Syrians filmed themselves a lot, enough to be geolocated in Horadiz and other places. I am not against mercenaries, may be if we had more of them, my friend wouldn't be martyred in Füzuli."
Some of you may be familiar with Cavidaga (real name Javid Agha), he is a (relatively prominent) Azerbaijani anti-govt journalist/activist who was pretty active on twitter, although his account there seems to be gone now for some reason. I never agreed with his views but always thought him to be one of the most reasonable and level-headed Azerbaijanis active online and had a good amount of respect for him.
I saw this gem of a comment from him on r/Azerbaijan today on the topic of Syrian mercaneries (for context, he was replying to someone asking for proof of the Syrians having participated in the war). It's great to see that even one of the most "civil" Azeri figures isn't against sacrificing Syrians to kill us, even given the context of his friend.

I don't like to do this kind of "drama" but considering he is a prominent figure I wanted to draw attention to the disgusting comment and the underlying mindset it shows. I lost pretty much all hope in Azerbaijani civil society since 2020 but it pisses me off to see that even the seemingly normal people think like this.
Please don't go interact in the comments or message him or whatever, it's not worth it and not the point of this post.
