Top water frog or a buck tail (spinner) #3 Mepps. I catch a lot of different species of fish with the Mepps #3.

Edit: I mainly fish rivers near me.

I haven't gone fishing for at least a decade, but when I used to neon yellow Rapala was always a good one.

As a kid, pap always set us up with a Carolina rig with a 9-12 inch lead from the weights/colored beads. Chartreuse pumpkin seed rubber lizard.

It worked well enough in the South US!

Can’t go wrong with a Carolina rig!

I use red in the spring. Firecraw chatterbait with King crawfish shaped trailer is big. Red square-billed cranks are great too.

Spring, I love going top water with Frogs or Whopper Ploppers to see if I can get some of the fun aggressive bites. Plenty of time during the rest of the summer to toss a Damiki or Neko rig

A jig.

But then again that's also my go-to summer, fall, and winter lure too.
