Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Sure would be a shame if someone linked to the website or even directly to the form where people could spam it and waste public officials’ time until they take it down.

[–] [email protected] 75 points 8 months ago (4 children)

Not even a captcha, that's rookie-level shit. I could automate spamming the shit out of that in my sleep.

[–] [email protected] 62 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Oh no. That would be such a shame. Especially if someone linked to the script.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Where are those discord script kiddies?

[–] [email protected] 23 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It's 2pm. I think this is prime masturbation time, since Mom is out of the house. But I'm sure they'll post a script later.

Seems they just put it behind a login that requires a photo ID to create an account

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago

Or maybe Johnny can help.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 8 months ago

Still works for me, but the direct link jeff posted doesn't work. Use the first link then click on the "Submit to Portal" button. It seems to generate some sort of a GUID that's maybe tied to a session? I didn't dig very far into it as I'm about to shut my computer down as it's date/store night, lol.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 8 months ago

I hope no one takes this up as a “challenge”.

I say, let the priests be meddlesome! No need to be rid of them.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

Oh the humanity, a shame if someone made a script and distributed it with instructions on how to use it.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

Looks like login is required now.

We did it Lemmy.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago (2 children)

The form even requires at least one file to be uploaded to submit… How could that go wrong?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Any file size limitations? Would be a shame if they get gigabytes of text files filled with useless garbage.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago

Why text? Upload porn. Then contact another conservative state's Attorney General saying they should block the Indiana site for having porn.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago

I did my duty and reported Gary School For Snails to them, and attached an image as proof.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Sure wish I was better at scripting. I used to live in Indiana, still have family there, hell, I grew up there. I'm ashamed to call that place my home now. This shit is basically Mcarthyism from the 1950s. History repeats itself I guess.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

You can totally sign up with an anonymous mailinator.com email address!

Also, the direct link you provided didn't work for me. After I made an account, I had to navigate around the site to find the form.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

This shit still isn't locked down? This article popped up a few weeks ago, and I did my part in reporting some very concerning memes.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 8 months ago

Shame they couldn't extend that to being anti Russian government again at least.

[–] [email protected] 45 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Are these socialists in the room with you now, Todd?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago

Some national "socialists" might be, not that those actually count

[–] [email protected] 36 points 8 months ago (2 children)

I bet the power of the internet quickly makes this useless.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I wonder how hard it would be to automate some...ahem...reports.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Be a shame if someone used ChatGPT to make unique, large, real looking, and hard to filter fake reports.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

Wait a minute... I'm on the internet! I can make this useless. Thanks for the idea!

Is it illegal tbere to be a socialist?

[–] [email protected] 44 points 8 months ago (2 children)

By socialist he means anything he doesn't like. A lot of the rightwing politicians aren't interested in good honest debate. Instead they engage in dog whistle politics, and their base eats that up.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago

Gol dang woke teaches!!

sput

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago

You're absolutely correct.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 8 months ago

Not illegal, just heresy. Capitalism is our state religion and I get the same reaction from folks when I say I'm an atheist, too.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Aren’t all public school teachers technically socialist teachers? Since their salaries are paid by taxes.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 8 months ago

No Siree, here in Indiana we don't have any truck with socialism. Our government employs unionized people to teach Jesus's gospel about feeding the poor - no room for socialism here.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago

Please stop making sense and report them already! /s

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Didn't have 2024 as the speed runner's version of WW1 and WW2 worst of compilation. But here we are. Nazis, trying to destroy democracy, socialist/Communist snitching, controlling woman's reproductive rights in all forms, Italy has a Mussolini and straight up genocide.

Germany- keep your shit together, Austria- protect your leaders, and Poland- lock your doors!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I have bad news about Germany...

These never work, because they inevitably get flooded with bullshit reports, but if Biden wins this year, I hope Congress takes aim at curbing these "bounty hunter" schemes.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

It is more about the Senate and the House

I'm sure this is all being done altruistically to protect the children. What a trash fucking human being.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 8 months ago

Party that collectively chokes on putin’s dick wants you to snitch on “socialist” teachers

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Jesus had some pretty socialist ideas... watch the right's head explode when it becomes an anti-christian snitch line.

(Looks into the GOP playbook). Wait, this has nothing to do with the ideology of the teacher, and everything to do with the pay. Newer teachers have less health costs and get paid lower. The more teachers get fired for any reason, the lower the pay. Just an end-run around teachers unions disguised as a ideological attack.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

That’s the gist of a new project launched by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, a Republican, who has created a portal called “Eyes on Education” that encourages members of the public to tattle on teachers they believe are pushing so-called “woke” content on kids.

Eyes on Education enables self-styled whistleblowers to submit evidence to the state of “objectionable curricula, policies, or programs.” And the site presents a selection of such content, organized by school district.

The new state website asserts it is non-partisan, claiming to be interested in rooting out “political ideology — either left or right.” But when he announced the launch of the portal earlier this month, Rokita made the bias of the project clear, insisting Eyes on Education exists to expose “examples of socialist indoctrination” in the classroom — and seeks to highlight “destructive” teaching practices that “divide kids from their parents” and from what Rokita deems “normal society.”

This includes screen grabs from YouTube transcripts where a superintendent mentions the words “black lives matter” or references “diversity and inclusion.” The supposedly objectionable material includes a screenshot of a social media post by Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter Bernice, in which she writes: “There is no form of protest against racism or method of teaching about racism that will be palatable to racists.” (The word “racists” has been highlighted.)

One document posted to the site and reviewed by Rolling Stone contains personally identifying details of instructors, including email address and phone numbers, effectively doxing these professionals, and opening them up to public harassment.

The open letter calls Eyes on Education a violation of teacher privacy that engages in the “intentional act of doxing.” And it accuses Rokita of pushing “manufactured outrage” to target a profession that is being “incessantly denigrated” by the state government.

The original article contains 1,157 words, the summary contains 297 words. Saved 74%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago

Holy shit society, fuck these conservatives with a splintered rod already.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago

A conservative government in Canada thought a similar idea. They abandoned the idea when many people publicly stated that they would "snitch" on the local right wing nut job.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

Gotta watch out for those cultural Marxists

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

Should definitely report every public works department in the state.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago

That worked our great the last time. Imma go write a play about some witches now.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago

Trans-sanity sounds great. Did he not realize when you drop the "in" from the start of a word it changes its meaning?
