Have you tried, I dunno, getting over it?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 9 months ago

So many times...

for context (beyond that being Getting Over It): orteil42 is the creator of Cookie Clicker.

Oh ok Mr Picard - make NO attempt to inform us of this game will you!? 😝

The game is called "Getting Over It." It's a platformer where you need to climb a large mountain of ridiculous things using only a hammer to maneuver yourself.

Also the hammer is hard to control. It’s kind of like qwop in its awkwardness.

kind of like qwop

Oh god no. I'm gonna start. Wish me luck

He can’t hear you he’s currently stuck on snake way.

It really is the qwop successor

[–] [email protected] 9 points 9 months ago

It literally is, both made by Bennet Foddy

I'm gonna regret askign aren't I...

Haha, sorry - I just assumed everyone had heard of this wonderful nightmare! Like the other commenter said, it's called "Getting Over It". It has cool narration as you're playing - you'll fall down and then get a talk about overcoming failure.

Isn’t this game made by the same person/group that did QWOP and GIRP? Man I miss girp that was the first and only game I tried speedrunning.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I've never heard of GIRP, but yeah Bennet Foddy was responsible for both Getting Over it and QWOP

Ahh it’s still available! linky

A keyboard is essential so it’s not mobile appropriate.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

Thanks! I'll try it later

I don't know if it was the same people, but it definitely felt like a spiritual successor!
