I would like this feature on each comment. I'm not a fan of the bottom navigation bar
You could long press the top level comment to hide its children. Won't jump to the next comment, but will make it small enough to see the next one.
Enable both options Settings shortcut: Comment options > Single click to hide comment and the one below it, 'Hide parent comment'.
That'll give you the behaviour you want.
