Any rank and file citizen would be in jail already. But I'm ok with them getting the evidence and assuring that the trial happens flawlessly. Of course this all happened in 2020, so the principle of 'justice delayed, is justice denied', certainly comes to mind.
You're forgetting the fact that Trump has made it clear that he is not above pardoning his allies. Stone can rest assured that whatever jail he ends up in, if Trump is re-elected he is getting another pardon.
If trump hadn't pardoned him already, he'd just now be getting out of jail...

Why he is even allowed work in government/politics after the Nixon incident is a huge mystery to me.
Because Trump brought him back from the fringes and keep pardoning him whenever Stone gets in trouble. The only reason this is making the news is because Stone doesn't have friends in high places anymore.
I would love to see consequences happen, but we seem determined to slow walk ourselves into a fascist dictatorship by never letting anybody get punished for obviously fascist things.

He already did. Yet it's entirely within Stone's character to say and do this.
What actually surprises me is that the right hasn't already been releasing a barrage of easily-debunked deep fakes just to undermine the public confidence in evidence and make it easier to claim a real recording is fake.
Stone has denied making the comments about Zelinsky, Swalwell, or Nadler and said the audio had been made with artificial intelligence.
