They're all pretty normal except for Dragon man and the child (the child being exceptionally skilled). The dragon man is crying and excited for you, so he's weird but in a charming way. Larry being the most normal and a normal type trainer.
I think the E4 should be flamboyant and expressive. They should still have their own rooms because it's awesome. I don't care if I'm a student doing this or that; it's one of the most memorable parts where artists can flex.
Ngl the character design is so fucking good in this gen.
Its a mixed bag for me. Theres some really excellent designs for both the humans and the mons, but some others that fall very flat for me.
I love Pokemon human designs as much if not more than the actual mons though. Pokemon humans have some of my favorite charachter designs ever.
The whole main squad in gen 9 is so good
I'd make a comment but the boss has me strictly limiting my overtime hours.
