People noticed artifacts in the art pretty quickly:

WotC is standing by its claim but it seems doubtful that these mistakes would have been made by a human unless the artist comes out and shows their process

Its always possible some underpaid artist used AI without Wizards knowing. (or just used it as part of the process). But, that image was at least partially made with AI.

Yeah I agree, it’s a least possible WotC is relying on the artist’s claim.

This is 100% AI generated/assisted in some way and anyone who’s ever used Midjourney or any of them can see this. I’m surprised WotC made such an immediate denial, they could’ve at least looked into this more fully given the potential fallout.

Careful, you're going to get a visit from the pinkertons.

Oh Lord, that gauge. Wizards, tell which human so I can slap them. Or stop I trying to die on a concave hill.

The tubes did it for me. I own many vintage guitar amps. I can name most tubes on sight, even non-audio ones. These are comical.

Edit: not the pipes, but the thermionic valves glowing behind the cards.

Oh I know. I would believe that an artist might go that kind of route though.

What doesn't add up is the top line of the "drawer" on the wooden box thing. If you look, the line on the top side of the drawer is different heights on the left and right side of the land cards; this is a tell-tale sign of AI image generation.

Yeah, nobody who's obsessive enough to make this level of detail is gonna stand for anything misaligned!

Do you just assume any art that isn’t a perfect attempt at realism is AI?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

That would be the CEO. WoTC fired 1900 people last year. 1100 people just before christmas.

If they don't delete the tweet they're gonna say they meant that a human wrote the prompt for the generation at some point, I just know it.

This is like when Nostradamus predicted the atomic bomb

[–] [email protected] 17 points 10 months ago

I was wondering if they would try to quietly change their policy, or if they would blatantly lie about it (because there's no way they weren't going to use AI).

I guess now we know.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 10 months ago

Well, they fired all the humans right? They needed to use AI here. /s?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago

They can just call the Pinkertons to defend them.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago

Cable hell, definitely wasn't made by anyone that has ever had to deal with a power cord.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 10 months ago

I guess it's just a matter of time until AI is used in actual art for the game

why you always lyinn

The window glass is a dead giveaway.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah, that's pretty clearly AI generated. An artist may have worked on it or made edits after the fact which could be key to their claim. It would be disingenuous though. The artifacts are pretty damning.
