Important to note that this is not even the first time they've been called out by the FTC. They were already cited for this program not having sufficient consumer protections in 2010 and given a list of changes to implement, which they failed to do.

The pharmacy group, which is currently in bankruptcy proceedings, also failed to properly train employees about the fact that there could be false positives with the technology or to prevent the use of low-quality images.

They're a legitimately shitty place even without the facial recognition. Long waits on the phone, only to have them hang up. Long waits in the store. Poor communication about any issues (they'll tell you after you wait in line). Poor time estimates when things will be ready. Look at reviews for your local one and they'll likely have similar issues. This isn't even new, been the case for years.

Good. Now they need to start enforcing bans on corporate facial recognition technology use everywhere.
