You can now use lemmy like you did reddit with infinity for reddit

I used infinity for Reddit, and I was using Jerboa for Lemmy.

As much as I appreciate Jerboa, Eternity offers superior experience and I switched more than a month ago. Really good app

is eternity for reddit or for lemmy

Infinity is the original app for Reddit

Eternity is the fork for Lemmy

Tried a couple of apps, and while they were great I was so used to Infinity already that it's hard to go away from Eternity now

Oh wow, I didn't know it was brand new. I downloaded it randomly yesterday when I couldn't get Alexandrite to work as a pwa. I'm a big fan of the app so far, keep up the great work whoever is developing the app!

Just been using it today since seeing this post - it's so much prettier than Jerboa (or any of the other apps, none of which I got along with), but it is still buggy and sometimes takes forever to load a post/page. Really looking forward to this app getting developed!

Interesting, I've been using it for months and aside from a day where nothing would load, it's been almost perfect for me. I also really like thunder (also in F-Droid) because of it's neat upvote gestures but it freezes super regularly for me, so I don't use it very often. Maybe it works for you ^__^

Thanks, useful to know - perhaps it's just me!

Could be an issue with your server

What about for desktop? Pretty please ๐Ÿ™

If you are looking for native Lemmy apps for Windows, I don't know if they exist.

But here is an awesome updated list of webapps available for Lemmy: The Great Big List of Lemmy Apps

You can create a shortcut for them on your desktop. These are fast and minimal and have different styles. There is one webapp in there that is very similar to the old[dot]reddit site.

Thank you :)

You can always just run android apps on desktop. Waydroid works on Linux Wayland but I'm sure there are windows alternatives

[-] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

It's not without obstacles but it's possible to run Android apps on Linux and Windows.
But there should be atleast a few native clients for your operating system too.

Are you saying there might be already a way to do this on desk top? I don't want to o back to Reddit ,but I was there for 15 years and would be lying if I said I didn't miss it.

I don't know what you're expecting. Eternity has the same UI as the Infinity for Reddit client, you won't get back Reddit.

Using it for months. Good times. Highly recommend.

Using this now on a pixel 7. Highly recommended. It's been a pleasure to use. No complaints yet.

I am commenting on Eternity right now

I tried installing on graphene, but it got stuck in infinite loop for eternity asking me if I want to update. Perhaps this is a joke on the name? Good one.
