I thought that these personality tests had been debunked?

We had the myers briggs test back in the day, and I've heard on couple podcasts that these tests (including MB) are highly questionable.

As it happens, the latest maintenance phase podacst is about the MB test:

Not listened yet, but will.

Sadly that's what the human race does. It's nothing unique to nuclear power.

It still baffles me, for example, that with all this technology, we still generate all this rubbish which we then bury in the ground. And we all know it. We all buy things in disposable packaging. We are all complicit.

The care and maintenance stage is part of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) decommissioning strategy and spans an 80+ year period. This waiting period allows for radiation levels within the reactor core to decline and helps to facilitate a smoother demolition process. Dungeness A is due to enter the care and maintenance phase in 2027. Demolition of reactor buildings and final site clearance is planned for 2088 to 2098

It's an amazing place. I visited last month. You can overlook the power station from a nearby lighthouse.

When reading about dungeness reactor i learned that even reactors that haven't melted down also take about a hundred years to decommission safely.

Another interesting stat I heard on a podcast is that the coal industry has proven much more deadly than the nuclear industry in terms of human lives lost.

Hey,

We've recently been discussing the capless clones. Doodlebud just made a video comparing the real deal with the clones.

We talk about writing instruments a lot, but equally important is the paper and related bits.

So tell us, what paper do you use? Do you use any cover/case for your notebook?

[Reposting because it failed to federate again]

Picked this up for £11 from Aliexpress and I reckon it's one of the best FPs I own. Great for quick note taking.

Sure, it's a shameless clone of a pilot capless, but I'm never going to spend that kind of money.

Note also: only comes in . Writes like an if you ask me.

Considering buying a few more to gift to friends.

Hi,

Several posts I've made to /c/fountainpens have not made it to lemmy.world from the lemmy.sdf.org instance.

If you compare these two urls, you can see that the top post (and several others) are only visible when viewed from sdf:

https://lemmy.world/c/fountainpens https://lemmy.sdf.org/c/[email protected]

I've looked at the debugging tool and the sdf instance thinks that outbound lemmy.world is up to date, so has lemmy.world rejected the posts somehow?

It seems to happen non-deterministically. Some posts have made it through. This has been ongoing for at least a couple of weeks now.

Any ideas?

Edit: this post did federate... could it be to do with posts with images or something?

Hi there,

Hope this is the right place to ask.

Recently I've been posting to a community on lemmy.world from my account on the sdf instance. However I've noticed that the posts sometimes don't make it to lemmy.world.

I can see the post in the community when logged in in my sdf account, but if I go the the lemmy.world url in a browser, the post isn't there hours later.

How can I find out what's going on? Like is it an outbound sdf thing or an inbound lemmy.world thing? Is there a log file i can read somewhere? If I can find out which server is broken, who do I talk to?

(Knowing my luck this post won't federate)

Cheers

premium mouse that receives constant updates

Come on. How many firmware updates can we really expect for a mouse?

I've had an m570 for about 10 years. Every time it broke, I fixed it. Why do we need a subscription?

Parkker IM (lemmy.sdf.org)

[Reposting, as it didn't federate properly last time]

This is a parker IM I've had in my collection a while. I don't usually go for Parker branded pens. I usually find them a bit boring/vanilla. But when I saw this one come up pristine on Ebay, I thought I'd give it a go.

It looks nice, but sadly it doesn't seal well. There's a hole under the clip that lets air in. Why? I guess I could try to cover it.

Bonus device in the background.

Hi,

I posted twice to a community on lemmy.world and wondered why no one upvoted or replied.

If I go to the the community directly via a web browser my posts don't show.

Is federation broken again?

My posts were 6 and 7 days ago.

Take the battery out if you can to avoid lithium fires.

Old batteries on constant charge... I worry about this kind of thing.
