When the old subreddit shut down there was a Discord for a bit. I have no idea what happened to it, or if it still exists. I think we schismed with them for some reason, but I never used it so I never cared. Maybe some other oldhead will remember.

IIRC there are a couple Discords. There has been at least one schism. None of them are officially associated with us, and I haven't kept track of them since we officially migrated to Matrix (as to not have private discussions about operations stored in cleartext on Discord's servers). There is an official Matrix server at matrix.chapo.chat, and a public channel named #CoolZone, but it is pretty idle. In addition to a handful of public channels, the Matrix server is the official venue for mod / development discussion. Upstream Lemmy development also takes place on Matrix, so this makes communication convenient.
