"inappropriate"
For anyone else OOTL who sees Othello's comment and thinks, "Oh, it was racist, wasn't it?" Yes, it was racist. (and homophobic and misogynistic, but you probably already expected that)
probably none of you are as far OOTL as I am, I know
i just hate that we treat these racists with kids gloves "inappropriate" is when you make a sex joke at a work party. this was racist. matty healy is a racist, the Cumtown people are racist. but you cant say that on hexbear without people crying about it. edit. also healy said this AFTER they started working on the song together, so he was saying this about his partners coworker bassicly.
I was shouting every chance I could get back on /r/cth about how Cumtown was racist. It really pissed the stupidpol types on there off. Hexbear is not too bad in comparison
but occasionally you get some weirdoes on here trying to defend the "humor" on that show. Its indistinguishable from any other racist standup guy or w/e, but since it's "dirtbag left" it's hilarious
Sadly I’ve run into quite a few fans on here. And a few stupidpol types as well. I think my presence agitates them lol. The sub was a cesspool for them though so it is much better.
I don't understand how it could be perceived as anything other than wildly racist.
Edit - and I don't understand how a person can think racism is funny and not be racist, whether they're the person creating the racist content or the person consuming it, but maybe one of their fans here can explain it to me
fully agree. ironic racism is just racism.
This is not a "cumtown is good" post. I am not a cumtown fan. This post is meant to say "it is weird that a shitty obscure podcast has some influence on america's largest cultural event". Especially considering that marketing made Taylor Swift the center of the entire event.
This is just not true. Taylor started dating Matty Healy after the interview had already aired. Taylor most likely knew about what Matty Healy had said when she decided to start dating him. How could she not know?
spoiler
The Adam Friedland interview with Matty Healy was recorded on November 7 2022.The Adam Friedland interview interview was released on February 9 2023. Articles immediately criticized Matty Healy for it.
Taylor Swift dated Joe Alwyn from 2016 to April 8 2023.
Taylor Swift dated Matty Healy between April 2023 and June 5 2023.
A former Capitol Records executive first rumored that Ice Spice would collaborate with Taylor on April 27 2023.
The Taylor Swift, Ice Spice collaboration Karma Remix was released on May 26 2023.
So Taylor Swift decided to date Matty Healy after the Adam Friedland interview had already aired and caused controversy.
I didn't listen to the Matty Healy episode. I don't know exactly what was said. I used the word "inappropriate" because I didn't know exactly what was said. The word "inappropriate" doesn't just mean sex joke at an office party, it can mean worse things than that. I had no ulterior motives. I'll change the post to make you feel better.
Also, unlike cumtown and most of hexbear, I like Ice Spice. I liked Munch. I liked Boy a Liar Pt 2. Her new single called Fart is not good but not every song can be a winner. I've posted on hexbear that I like Ice Spice's music more than once since Munch came out and hexbear users mostly made fun of me for it.
i appreciate the change, also i was referring to the general culture of this site. also, i would never make fun of you for liking ice spices musics, shes popular for a reason. I do have to say I think im a bigger nerd then you are though. because according to ice spice she reached out to taylor in 2020. and if you look at the nails in this picture ice spices nails had that design before matty healys racist comments in march. this is a pic from a recording studio.
now definitely think the song was rushed production-wise, due to its quality, and the fact that ice spice isn't even on beat (not that the beat lends itself to rapping at all, they should have put her on vigilante shit or a sexy song like maroon) frankly it would have been impossible for the music video to have been done in a coulple weeks because of the sheer amount of STUFF that was in it. now im too dumb for math, but the math isnt mathing.
I'm still not sure about who knew what, and when, but this is some quality sleuthing
thanks! credit goes to the tic tok swifties though, i simply retain an insane amount of pop culture info because i love drama.
I don't know where you got the year 2020. Ice spice had not released a single song before the year 2021 and her break out single was released in the summer of 2022.
That photo of the nails is from March 5 2023 when she first performed Boys a Liar Pt 2. Boys a Liar Pt 2 was released February 2 2023. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OYQoZ6s3Ds&t=393s
Secondly. Taylor Swift said that she learned by Ice Spice by listening to her music. That would not be possible in 2020 as Ice Spice had not released a single song yet.
According to this statement that Taylor made on May 26 2023, the same day that the collaboration was released. Taylor says that Ice Spice's team had reached out while she was preparing her for her 2023 Eras Tour, which began on March 17, 2023. Also the song original song Karma was not released until October 2022.
So if they did meet as early as March 2023, that is still after the Adam Friedland interview, but it could be before Taylor Swift started dating Matty Healy. Which if true would mean Taylor decided to start dating Matty Healy after the comments he made about Ice Spice and after she had started working with Ice Spice.
You implied that I am a fan of cumtown. You accused me of using words to downplay racism. Also, I got a suspicious DM from some random hexbear user yesterday, which leads me to believe that you were talking about me on some external platform.
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
There was also a straight up racist "joke" about watching brutally racist pornography on a niche website 99% of people didn't even know existed, on top of the things he said about Ice Spice.
i unfortunately found out exactly what that content contains and the working conditions those girls go through.... like actual stuff that should be illegal. stomach churning shit.
