So are they saying that having overseas military bases is a bad thing now, or?
They're trying their damn hardest to conjure up some sort of whataboutism to throw at people who point this out

those countries WANT those bases there!
Whereas China forced the countries to let them possibly consider propositioning them
"legacies of empire" lmao. "We're not building new bases, just continuing to occupy 800 existing ones, so that totes makes our imperialism okay guys!"
