Most of the dialup connection sound ain't shit, but everyone loves when it gets to the "de-dow, de-dow, kshhhhhhh-" bit, that part really slaps.
The first screetching part was like tires taking a curve at high speed.
The boinging part was like hitting the bumpers inside a pinball machine.
The final bit of static was like the fabric of reality tearing apart as you break through to... SURF THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY!!?!!
Like me, you may have developed a pavlovian response to that sound because it meant the modem probably wasn't going to throw an error and disconnect.
You made me Youtube search "Dial-up remix". I'm not even a little surprised that's a thing.
