MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Ten Republicans who posed as fake electors for former President Donald Trump in Wisconsin and filed paperwork falsely saying he had won the battleground state have settled a civil lawsuit and admitted their actions were part of an effort to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory, attorneys who filed the case announced Wednesday.

Under the agreement, the fake electors acknowledged that Biden won the state, withdrew their filings and agreed not to serve as presidential electors in 2024 or any other election where Trump is on the ballot.

The 10 fake electors agreed to send a statement to the government offices that received the Electoral College votes saying that their actions were “part of an attempt to improperly overturn the 2020 presidential election results.”

...

Under the settlement, the 10 fake electors promised to assist the Department of Justice with its ongoing investigation. They also agreed to help the Democrats as they continue their lawsuit against Troupis and Chesebro.

But see, here's the thing. They, like, provided us information so we can really ~~formally convict~~ Slam™️ the Republicans they conspired with. That'll show them they were on the wrong side of history this whole time! That has to be worth, idk like, 500 years in jail, right? Waaay better than actually sending literal traitors to our country to jail.

If it was a choice between holding 10 republicunts criminally responsible or throwing Trump in general pop prison, I would pick the latter. That man is a danger to the integrity of the US and everyone in the crosshairs of the republican party.

Full disclosure, I agree. I also don't think he's actually going to see jail time. My comment was more along the lines of what I think will happen: we will cut all of these deals to catch him, and then nothing will actually stick. I would give my left nut to see him be sentence and serve time. I'd give my right nut to see it carry the full weight his crimes actually should.

He will never get gen pop because he would be murdered, r***d, and the taxpayers can not afford that lawsuit.

Being even more real, how likely is it he’ll get Club Fed?

Is there any legal reason why we can’t hang a traitor?

That doesn’t seem strict enough

I wholly agree. I’m not fond of the death sentence for reasons and I dislike retributional incarceration as opposed to rehabilitative. He probably meets standards for criminally insane, but I’m not looking for an insanity plea.

Well typically a "traitor" has to be convicted of treason. So when that happens, then sure. Otherwise we may as well hang you just-in-case.

Fingers crossed

taxpayers can not afford that lawsuit.

It happens every day. If we can afford those lawsuits we can afford one more.

Sure, what’s wrong with a few more homeless families and child starvation deaths?

[-] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

So you are fine with the 140+ prison death lawsuits each year but 1 extra lawsuit is too much?

[-] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Don’t put words in my mouth. I’m not fine with any of it, nor the very valid reasons for suing.

Wait, the US has integrity? What US are you referring to.
