I'm surprised more rain jackets don't have Ziploc-style pockets that can be sealed shut (leminal.space)

Maybe this is a thing and I've been buying cheap rain jackets.

I wonder if reusable and resealable bags are only designed to be open and closed a finite amount of times.

Not exactly ziploc, but there is Tizip. But as others have said, a properly designed pocket won't have an issue. Maybe you will need to close the zipper on it during an absolute deluge.
