Might help with the problem I was previously talking about here. They would need to have a user account created on pawb.social in order to start subscribing, and we could probably add some of our communities on it so smaller servers can find us. This seems like one of the only real ways of countering instance isolation with Lemmy's design.

Agreed. Might be worth opening an issue on their project to gauge opinions, or even forking it with less of an anti-NSFW slant (which would unfortunately require an extra set of accounts to be made on all the instances). I would guess the current stance is to make it more palatable as something that every single server could sign up for without any worry of new problems needing to be dealt with.
