Always-on Gyro vs. Gyro Toggle vs. Gyro on Button Hold: which is your favorite and why?
(communities.azkware.net)
Welcome to Gyro Gaming subreddit, where people can share their passion for Gyroscopic Controls in Video Games, such as Camera Aiming, Vehicle Steering, Typing, etc.
I typically use always on gyro with some way to temporarily disable it (at first with a button, then with my steam deck’s capacitive trackpads, and for controllers without capacitive touch, right stick displacement). I prefer it this way because I realized I’m not a big fan of using thumbsticks for camera control due to their relatively limited speed and impreciseness. I also like having the ability to use the face buttons while having camera control at the same time, and gyro always on just allows that the easiest.
I comment that on the splatoon thing and say that Nintendo should’ve added in substantial options for gyro and sticks after nearly 7 years into this ip. Like I understand why they are the way they are (to more or less encourage people to use gyro as a general aiming tool, and to keep noobs from staring at the sky or ground when they first play the game), but not giving people options especially with other titles like Fortnite having amazing customization after the Feb 2022 update makes Nintendo’s offerings lackluster (then again Nintendo and substantial options go together like oil and water).
