General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I been following politics for about six months now. What the Tories have done here is nothing compared to the US. Considering how the Tories are mirroring the US in tactics, it is kind of scary how far they were prepared to go.

Anything you think is worse in the US, then give it 5 years and it’ll be there.

It most certainly will if the Tories get in again. My fear is that they will take this run as a learning experience. The next time they gain power they could be successful in their desire to hold absolute power. You only have to look at Trump and remember the Tories take all their advice from the Republican's lead.
