My understanding is that when the blender game engine was released in like 2005 there was no free open game engines. But blender game engine was never a big success and didn't get much updates. So they dropped it in 2019 with blender 2.8 because now there are lots of much better free game engines available and it was a lot work maintaining the extra code.
sad . wel i barely se blender i got 0 skill anyway x3
