These potatoes are so good but can be hard to find in grocery stores. If you like potatoes you will like these ones even more. They almost have a nutty taste to them like a peanut/sunflower seed or something. They are way healthier for you than regular potatoes because they are rich in Anthocyanin and other cancer fighting compounds, and they are just as easy to grow. I have some of these growing indoors as an experiment, and I’m going to be harvesting them soon. I’ll post some pictures whenever I harvest them to show everyone my yields and stuff. They have been growing for a few months now in a 30 gallon tote under about 200 watts of led grow lights. I know it’s not very cost effective but it’s just something I do for fun really
I love Yukon golds, but i think these make a much better roasting/baking potato, while yukons are better for mashed potatoes. These are similar in texture, but the purple ones have this extra earthy/nutty flavor and it taste very different than most other potatoes I have had. I think the purple ones are considered sweet potatoes, but they arent really sweet at all
