He claims he repeatedly tried to speak to the council about organising the event but was ignored.

the event raised about £900 for Cancer Research

The town council posted a statement on its website, criticising the organisers for hosting the unapproved event in a public open space

the town council said it had removed the graffiti the next day because some of it was offensive.

they decided to paint over our total amount raised while leaving every other piece of actual graffiti untouched.

Translation? Some kids at the local skate park did a lovely thing for charity and the absolute twats at the local council took offence that anyone would dare do anything nice in their little fiefdom without their permission - which they didn’t even legally need, by the way - and out of spite, they destroyed the graffiti which celebrated the charitable efforts of those involved.

It actually looks like in the photo that one of the town councillors, Cllr Matthew Bennie, is painting over the graffiti personally. He’s the councillor for the ward where the event happened. I imagine he is deeply affronted by this. What an absolutely fucking disgraceful display of completely childish and behaviour. Councillor Bennie should be forced to resign in disgrace.
