What kind of event? What dress code?

If it’s “casual”, that’s fine
If it’s “smart casual”, it’s borderline, but may be OK depending on the crowd
If it’s “semi formal” or “cocktail”, it’s not appropriate
On the other hand, if it’s a jazz restaurant, that’s absolutely perfect

Definitely not too bright.
