I've been working for over three 3 years in the game industry as a QA, but previously only for two huge names and now for a medium sized one. I've never done indie. I tried hitting up indie devs when I saw issues offering free help, but they were never interested. I was wondering if there was a more organized form where I could seek either low paid or even volunteer positions. Since I ditched mass platforms such as YouTube, I have more time on my hands and was thinking it may be a way to use it.

Maybe for volunteer positions, looking at open source games under development? I worked as a dev for open source game engine Terasology (https://terasology.org/) as part of Google Summer of Code and was paid for it, so there may be other opportunities for things like that as well.
