Veteran broadcaster Alan Jones has been arrested by Child Abuse Squad detectives at his Circular Quay apartment.

The arrest follows an investigation into alleged indecent assault and sexual touching offences spanning two decades.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said detectives had been "working tirelessly" on the investigation.

It’s unfortunate this wasn’t brought to light sooner

It's hardly a surprise. He's a very powerful man who has for decades put himself in places where he is in a position of power over young people, and has had run-ins with the law for sexual indecency before. Unfortunately in 1988 he got off with the charges being dropped, and even more unfortunately almost none of the articles today make mention of this.
