Summary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed confidence that Donald Trump’s presidency will hasten the end of the war with Russia, following their “constructive exchange” after Trump’s election victory.

Zelensky emphasized the need for a diplomatic resolution by next year, while acknowledging Ukraine’s challenges on the battlefield.

Trump, criticized for his alleged leniency toward Vladimir Putin, has vowed to end the war quickly but has not detailed his strategy.

The U.S. remains Ukraine’s largest arms supplier, recently approving $61 billion in aid.

What else is he going to say? Fuck the U.S. and fuck Trump?

Exactly. While pride from Zelensky would feel great I'm sure, it would come at the cost of many more Ukrainian lives. Best to suck up to the wannabe dictator and hope he's generous.

He's willing to suck up to an asshole for his citizens. It's an excellent mark of leadership.

Could be they need to make sure trump gets something out of it, and he will come around to Ukraine.

The reporting I heard from Michael koffman was Ukrainian soldiers felt they were slowly losing to attrition and needed a change in approach anyway, so this may not entirely be bullshit from zelensky.

The word from NCD, is that Zelensky wasn't bluffing about the nukes. He doesn't think Putin can radiologicaly retaliate after his generals looted the maintenance budget.

Israel has been taking part in a technology transfer. Any escalation in Eastern Europe takes eyes away from what's going on in the Levant.

Iodine pills all around!

Giving Ukraine a nuclear deterrent may be Netanyahu’s Churchill moment, i.e. one good action made by someone with an otherwise uniformly shitty record
