Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Scotland Yard is investigating a suspected gunshot that hit the back window of a taxi containing the Private Eye editor, Ian Hislop.

The black-cab driver told detectives he had come to a standstill in traffic in Soho, central London, just after 10am on Tuesday morning when he heard what he believed was a bullet hitting and damaging his window.

Both the driver and Hislop, who was in the rear of the cab, escaped without injury.

Do we think there's much chance this isn't politically motivated?

Random violence is rarely gun based in this country and it's not really an area of London I'd expect strays from gang crime especially at 10am on a weekday.

Can we not be the kind of country that tries to kill the press holding our elected representatives to account

Perhaps a warning rather then a genuine murder attempt?

Though the list of suspects must be "Any politician, celebrity or person who has been in the news and done something wrong, stupid or hypocritical since the 1980s".
