Here is a great egret (Ardea alba) and a couple of turtles on a log that I saw on the Red River flowing through Shreveport, Louisiana. I'm not certain of the turtle species but I think they may be two different species of turtle. Perhaps the turtle at the bottom is a red-eared slider, and the one closest to the egret a pond slider, but I'm mostly guessing. If you happen to be able to identify the turtle species, please share.
