$40,000 does seem to be a little low for the only existing cultural item from a civilization that has been completely destroyed.

Also, you'd think they'd include a book or something in their "only one person will ever know we existed" probe.

I say it should have not gone to picard but in an alternate timeline it went to a borg drone. Immediately assimilated into the entire collective.

Well it took some time, but technically

It's a great episode in terms of characterization and poignancy, but the plot device itself makes no sense. The probe is meant to be used one time and then shut down forever in order to preserve their civilization? At the very least allow it to be used more than once.

But then the probe has to distribute flutes out to everyone like it’s some kind of Space Oprah, reducing the future auction price of each flute.

Maybe just give instructions for how to make the flute?

“No, no, he didn’t suggest we give away the entire business. Don’t listen to him.”

I mean, they included a book or something alright.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.
