Tell me more about your crush. What happened with all of that?

[–] [email protected] 30 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Not much, we were both too immature to let it go.

She thought I was an asshole, for spoiling the plot. I thought she was dumb for not remembering the week in history class they spent talking about it.

Hindsight 15 years later? I dodged a bullet.

Doesn't the movie start with them exploring the wreckage of the ship?

We were waiting for popcorn, before the movie. But yes. And so did the trailer.

There's a timeline where you had kids with that, and drank yourself to sleep looking at their report cards and knowing the exact problem.

More importantly, what was the joke!?

The group had been arguing about which movie to see, and she had made a comment about ‘not understanding why’ people didn’t want to see Titanic. I explained that it was because we all knew how it would end- the ship sinks.

Edit:
In my defense, we were in the same class and they had covered it like a week before the movie came out, cuz “pop culture interest” or whatever.

Well... I am not a history buff but the absolute thing everyone knows about the Titanic is how it ends, so... your crush was kinda dumb/overreacted.

I do remember it being rather surprising how many people failed to know that the titanic sank. she was far from the only one.

Didn't everyone want and did go to see it though? It was like the best selling movie for a long time, no?

I never actually wanted to see it, to be honest. (All the movies out iirc kinda sucked. IMO the movie was poorly carried by DiCaprio’s ass. But I’m a guy and concede, that others might disagree.)
