This seems fun in Commander. Every lizard essentially comes in with 3 +1/+1 counters on them, as long as everyone's alive and doesn't prevent damage.
I might be reading it wrong but I think the first one enters with one +1/+1 counter b/c Gev's ability targets an opponent (not each opponent). The second one would be 2 counters assuming you hit a different opponent, etc.
Oh, you got it right. I think between reading and typing I swapped it to "each opponent" instead of "target opponent" in my head.
This can be true, but you need to ping your opponents before you get your lizard. Something like this will give you maximum counters: https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/details.aspx?multiverseid=426927
All future lizards come in with at least a +1/+1 counter, but yeah Bontu's Monument does a great job of sending it into overdrive.
