Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.

  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

TL;DR: Mississippi has had lots of federal money to help the poor. It was mostly stolen. They're jailing the reporters who exposed this instead of the theives

I've said it hundreds of times before and I'll say it again: Mississippi is the worst state.

It isn't in the (inter)national news for being awful as much as Florida and Texas, but that's because those are rich "Hollywood Awful" states.

Mississippi is more of a destitute "1970s village in a swamp governed by the most racist and corrupt ogres ever" kind of awful.

There's a saying in the south: "Thank God for Mississippi"

Because as shitty as Southern States are, Mississippi is always there to be worse.

SNL has all the debates except the one with clinton vs bush snr and perot where they say some stuff about arkansas and I swear he makes a comment about them being better than mississippi.

Louisiana likes to give them a run for their money occasionally. Both of those states have areas that are like third world countries, and the average education level is lolcow low.

Oof, I dunno. Alabama though.

The unofficial motto of Alabama is "thank God for Mississippi" because in most statistics Mississippi is the only thing keeping Alabama from being at the bottom with regards to anything positive and at the top with regards to anything negative 😄
