it was a 4chan psyop, created to link LGBTQ+ people to pedophiles. And then some pedophiles coopted it. Ever since then some right wing idiots point to MAPs and go: "you actually want pedos to join you", eventhoigh they have never been allowed to any pride event im aware of.

Yeah, it's basically pedophiles trying to rebrand themselves. You don't hear it much outside a few open pedophiles on social media and the whole radqueer community. If you're on one of the few instances that don't block them there's even a radqueer Lemmy instance if you're curious how messed up they are.
