UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
[email protected] appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

I'm beginning to think he hates the Tory party even more than I do
I figure he's decided that's he's squirreled away enough graft money and is deliberately trying to get booted from office so he can pull a runner.
Think you mean grift, this ponce has never done a hard day's work in his life.
Don't forget, he's allowed to claim £115k of UK taxpayers money for the rest of his life after he and Boris dismantled a bunch of the safety nets for UK society.
"Dole for me, not for thee."
I'd actually be in favour of this if they weren't allowed to take any other jobs afterwards. I reckon doing that removes a bunch of incentives to do nefarious things while in government
I am also generally in favour of it too, especially reading about world leaders back in the day that went destitute by having to pay for their own security.
It's just ironic that this fund was established for Thatcher, and generally is claimed by PM's who are independently wealthy.
Nah, it actually is graft, because it's specifically him using his government position to enrich himself, for instance by taking bribes. Grift is the general case of dishonest money, although there's usually a connotation of scam involved.
I mean I'd call bribes dishonest money
