I don't think there's much you could do to make The Sopranos more interesting, but having Melfi use him to go after her attacker I feel would have introduced a really interesting angle.

also my voice-to-text thinks that Melfi us "milfy", which isn't wrong.

not sure our impression of her professional personality would've survived that twist. it is her role to translate between mafia-anti-morals and civilized behavior afyer all

I wanted to see her cross the line and then try to go back. eventually confessing to her therapist what she's done; so long as you're not confessing future harm to someone or yourself, confidentiality applies

or what if it turns out she loves it?

or, what if she did it by accident. gave him slightly too much information, he does his own investigation and finds out what happens and does it himself
